MAVFC Takes Delivery of New Engine 12

The Mount Airy Volunteer Fire Company has recently taken delivery of a new Spartan/Rosenbauer engine. This unit will replace a 17 year old engine. This vehicle sports several upgrades and advancements in technology from the existing unit. Personnel are working feverishly to get the equipment placed and mounted as well as training the drivers.

Chassis - Spartan Metro Star LFD w/10" raised roof
Wheelbase - 207"

Front Axle / Susp. - Meritor MFS-20 / Taperleaf w/shocks rated @ 20,000 lbs.
Rear Axle / Susp. - Meritor RS-26-185 / Reyco spring rated @ 27,000 lbs.
Engine - Cummins ISL9 450 HP
Transmission - Allison 3000 EVS, 5-speed automatic
