By Chief Kenny Stull
July 27, 2015

On Sunday morning July 26th, in the area of John Pickett Road and Leroy Drive, a 31 year old jogger went missing. Carroll County Sheriffs Deputies started a search of the surrounding area by foot. As the search grew larger additional resources were requested to the scene bringing command officers from Mount Airy, and Winfield fire companies to assist in the command post operations. After the arrival of Chief 1-3, fire command was established. Ambulance 18 from Mount Airy VFC was dispatched to the scene to assist with rehab of personnel conducting the search. After the arrival of Chief 14 and Chief 1, the tasks of tracking ATVs conducting the search, and establishing a medical sector for operations were assigned to the Chiefs. After several hours of searching a large area by foot, horse back, and ATV's, the victim was found late into the night. Carroll County Sherriffs are investigating the incident.
