Two Working Incidents for the Engine in a day

In the early morning hours of Sunday January 7, E12 was dispatched to transfer to Frederick City Station 3 (United VFD). While enroute to Frederick Station 3, Frederick County ECC dispatched a house fire in the Middletown area requesting E12 to respond. E12 was the second arriving engine and stretched an attack line to the first floor while units were attacking the fire in the basement. E12 operated on the scene for several hours.

Later in the day , Engine 12 was alerted for a first due house fire in the area of Falling Green Way and Route 27. Units went on scene of a large 2 story house with fire showing from the roof. E12 laid a supply line in the driveway, then initialized an attack on the fire. A tanker task force was requested bringing in additional large volume water carriers as there were no water sources nearby. E12 crew along with personnel from RE11and many other units worked to opened up the inside to prevent fire from spreading. Roof operations were needed to fully extinguish the fire in the roof structure and attic area. Units operated for several hours on this fire prior to returning to service There were no injuries to civilians or firefighters. Firefighting was difficult due to the 17 degree temperature.
