On January 27 at 0244 hours, units from Winfield and New Windsor were dispatched to the 3000 Block of Hooper Road for a report of a shed fire. Moments after dispatch the Carroll County Emergency Communications Center filled box alarm 14-11 for a now reported detached garage fire with an updated address in the 3000 Block of Hooper's Delight Road adding additional apparatus from Union Bridge, Mt Airy, Libertytown and Westminster to the call. First arriving Lieutenant 14-4 found a 30' x 50' garage fully involved. Hooper's Delight Road Command was established and the tanker task force requested. E101 arrived as the second due engine and completed E141's split lay. Crews from MAVFC assisted with extinguishment and overhaul of the structure which was a complete loss. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office.
