On March 2 at 1725 hours, (5:25 pm), Box Alarm 01-41 was dispatched for the house on fire in the 7200 block of John Pickett Road, bringing Units from Lisbon, Mount Airy, Winfield, and Sykesville to the scene. First arriving Howard County Engine 41 advised fire coming from the roof of a single story rancher. The Rapid Intervention Dispatch was requested bringing additional units to the scene. Reserve Engine 12 arrived as the second due engine and assisted with interior extinguishment operations. C1-2 and Duty 14 had the John Pickett Road Command throughout the incident. Crews operated on the scene for approximately 2 hours. Damage to the house was significant.
