On January 20, at 1422 hours (2:22 pm), Engine 12 and Tanker 1 were dispatched for smoke in the house in the 12500 block of Old Annapolis Road in Frederick County. First arriving units from New Market advised they had a single story residence with smoke in the basement. At the request of the incident commander, the rapid intervention assignment was dispatched and Rescue 1 was added to the call. Upon arrival of Engine 12 the crew assisted in opening up the walls of the residence to check for extension. While crews were operating on the interior Tanker 1 assisted with water supply at the end of the driveway. Crews operated for approximately two and a half hours before returning to quarters.
