Mount Airy Volunteer Fire Company Phone Solicitations

The Mount Airy Volunteer Fire Company would like to remind everyone that the MAVFC does not solicit funds by telephone or telemarketing.

Any resident that receives a phone call from someone stating that they represent the Mount Airy Volunteer Fire Company or the local fire services should be advised not to give out any financial information. Recently, we have received reports that a caller has targeted the Mount Airy area claiming to be soliciting for the "fire service" and "burn victims". This in no way is attached to the Mount Airy Volunteer Fire Company and is a hoax of some sort.

The Mount Airy Volunteer Fire Company sponsors a photo fund drive each year where a paid solicitor will personally visit your home and will have appropriate ID. This is the only outreach we have going at this time. Our fundraisers are well advertised so everyone can be familiar with our events.

Thanks for your ongoing support.
