On Monday April 15 shortly after 1800 hours (6:00 pm) Carroll County Emergency Communications dispatched Box alarm 14-10 for a house on fire in the 7000 block of Woodbine Road. While units were responding, communications advised they had received multiple calls, and they believed it was a working fire. With that information and due to the rural location of the incident Chief 1 requested the Rapid Intervention Dispatch and a Tanker Task Force. HCE41 was first to arrive and reported fire showing from the front door and initiated an interior attack. HCC4 arrived shortly after and established the Woodbine Road command and confirmed that all occupants were out of the house. E12 arrived and was assigned to assist with overhaul operations, while the crew from R1 assumed the RIT group. Chief 1 was assigned the water supply officer, Tanker 1 staged. Units operated for over an hour at the scene. One civilian was transported to the hospital for evaluation and there were no firefighter injures. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Maryland State Fire Marshal's office.
