MAVFC Members Train on Pool Emergencies

With the warmer summer months upon us many people flock to the pool to cool off. With this in mind members of the Mt. Airy Volunteer Fire Company also flocked to the pool… but for a different reason. While public pools have trained lifeguards to properly remove a patient from the pool, members wanted to learn these techniques in case there is an emergency in a backyard pool with no lifeguards present. Members and junior members trained on the proper extraction of a patient from the pool both with and without a spinal injury.

We would like to thank Health Unlimited and Valencio Jackson, Aquatics Director for Health Unlimited, for providing this valuable training.
