Townhouse Fire with Resident Trapped

On March 17, 2024, at 1931 hours (7:31 pm), Box Alarm 1-1 was sounded for a townhouse fire in the 300 block of Violet Court. Units from Mount Airy, Lisbon, Damascus, New Market, Green Valley, Urbana, and Caroll DEFEMS responded with a report of a fire with a resident trapped in the building. Vehicle Collision with Rescue on Ridge Road

On Friday February 23 at 0753 hours (7:53 am), the MAVFC was dispatched for a vehicle collision with rescue in the area of Ridge Road and South Main Street. While units were enroute, the Mount Airy Police Department arrived on scene and confirmed one trapped. Units arrived to find a multi-vehicle pile-up with one patient requiring extrication. Kitchen Fire at Mt. Airy Apartments

On Tuesday, February 20, at 2232 hours (10:32 PM), the Mount Airy Volunteer Fire Company and surrounding companies were dispatched to the Mount Airy Apartments (200 block of Watersville Road) for a report of a building fire.

Rescue 1 Assists with Extrication on Old National Pike

On February 18 at 0033 hours (12:33 am), units from the Mount Airy Volunteer Fire Company and the New Market District Volunteer Fire Company were dispatched for a vehicle collision with rescue in the area of Woodville Road and Old National Pike. Units arrived simultaneously to find a pickup truck that had struck a parked skid steer with a single occupant pinned in the pickup.

Annual Photo Fund Drive

The Fire Company has begun their annual Photo Fund Drive which will continue through the middle of April. Persons representing the Fire Company will be going door-to-door in the Mount Airy area throughout this time period offering family portrait photography sessions.
