Large Equipment Storage Building Fire in Frederick County

On Thursday February 7 at 0018 hours (12:18 am), Frederick County Box 17-43 was dispatched for a building fire in the 14300 block of Harrisville Road. Engine 12, Tanker 1 responded first due on the box. C17-1 arrived to find a large equipment storage building fully involved and beginning to collapse. E12 and E172 laid out nearly 3000 feet of hose for water supply, and multiple attack lines were deployed. A Rapid Intervention Dispatch (RID) and Tanker Task Force was requested. Crews operated on the scene for several hours. The 20 by 80 feet building sustained major damage and collapse. The Frederick County Fire Marshal's Office is investigating the origin and cause of the blaze.
