On Wednesday, January 11, 2012, members of the MAVFC responded to honor a fallen soldier. Army Specialist Ronald Wildrick, who resided in Woodsboro, MD was killed in action while serving oversees in Afghanistan. He was taken from Dover Air Force Base in Delaware to Woodsboro (Frederick County) where he would be honored by family and friends before traveling to his final resting place in Arlington National Cemetery.

Members staffed apparatus and staged on overpasses along Interstate 70 at Watersville Road, and Bartholow Road where SPC Wildrick's procession would travel. As the procession of the hearse, state and local police motorcades, a Woodsboro VFD engine and members of the Patriot Guard passed, members of the MAVFC stood at attention and saluted our fallen soldier.

May SPC Wildrick rest in peace and our prayers are with his family and friends.
