| It didn't take long for the newly placed in-service Engine 12 to take members of the MAVFC to a fire. At approximately 2030 hours (8:30 pm) on Sunday evening, February 12th, Frederick County dispatched a house fire in the Holly Hills subdivision located in Company 33's first-due area. Units arrived to find a house with heavy fire involvement and began fire attack operations. Due to units being committed to the fire, Frederick requested Carroll Station 1 to transfer an engine and medic unit to the New Market VFD. The brand new Engine 12 was officially on the street for its first run. While enroute to New Market, incident commanders on the fire in Company 33's area needed additional units to assist with fire ground operations. Engine 12 and Medic 19 were dispatched to respond to the scene and were put to work on arrival. Crews assisted in finding hot spots and overhauling the second floor of the house with Frederick County units. The medic unit transported one patient to the hospital. Units operated on the scene for approximately 2 1/2 hours. |
