On May 25 at approximately 2135 hours (9:35 pm), Rescue Alarm 1-1 was dispatched for the vehicle collision at Route 27 and Ridgeville Blvd. Both EMS transport units from MAVFC were committed on previous calls. First arriving units found a 2 vehicle collision in the intersection with 2 patients still in one of the vehicles. After evaluation of the victims it was determined that there was a total of 3 patients needing transport so command requested 2 additional transport units. The crew from Rescue 1 went to work packaging the patients for the arrival of the 3 transport units. MCM713 and FCA159 each transported 1 patient to a local hospital, and HCM45 transported 1 patient to a trauma center. Once all hazards and fluids were cleaned up, all units cleared and the scene was turned over to the Maryland State Police for their investigation. Fire and Rescue units operated at the scene less than an hour.
