| On June 15th, 2006, members of the MAVFC participated in a monthly drill on Rope Rescue at the station. Led by instructor Tom Coe (Frederick County Battalion Chief/ New Windsor Vol. Fire Co.), members learned basic first responder techniques for situations involving overland rescue. Members went over tying basic knots used in sytems, how to set-up anchor points, securing patients in the stokes basket and hauling systems. The drill evolved from the initial equipment gathering into completion of putting the whole hauling system together. There were many skills and tasks gone over to make members more proficient in responding to a call involving rope rescue. |
