On June 25, 2006 at approx 1136 hours (11:36am), Frederick County Emergency Communications alerted rescue alarm 70-04 for a tractor trailer roll over in the median near the truck rest area. FCA158 was the first to arrive and updated the location to I-70 near Bill Moxley Rd. and advised they had a single tractor trailer roll over with the driver of the rig severely entrapped with a significant fuel spill, and requested the Haz-Mat assignment. Chief 1 (Dale Lowman) arrived and assumed the I-70 command first which was later passed to Chief 15 (NMVFD). The crew from M-19 and S-1 arrived and began to work with the crew from FCRE153 on the extrication. It was determined that this was going to be a lengthy extrication. Due to the heat, a second squad and engine company was requested to assist and relieve the crews working on the extrication. The extrication took approximately an hour. The driver was flown to Shock Trauma by MSP helicopter. All Carroll County units were clear at 1404hrs (2:04PM)
