Units were dispatched Friday evening September 7th just prior to midnight to assist Howard County units with a house explosion in the 15000 block of Bushy Park Road. Rescue 1 assisted with fire extinguishment while Tanker 1 hauled approximately 15,000 gallons of water to the scene . MAVFC units operated on location for approximately 3 hours before being released from the incident. All residents of the home, and the dog, were able to get out of the home unharmed. There were no fire service injuries. The property damage is estimated at approximately $300,000. The Howard County DFRS office of the Fire Marshal is investigating to determine the origin and cause of the explosion.
