On Christmas morning at 1051 hours (10:51 am), MAVFC units were dispatched first due on Frederick County Box 15-24 for a house fire in the 6200 block of Woodville Road. While units were responding, Frederick County ECC advised that the house was back a lane that was about a mile long. First arriving Frederick County C11-1 found smoke showing and shortly after advised he had fire showing, then requested the Rapid Intervention Dispatch. Chief 1 arrived shortly after and assumed the Woodville Road command and requested a tanker task force. Engine 12 arrived and deployed their front bumper attack line and two cross lay lines to the house followed by FCE152 who also deployed additional attack lines to assist in the fire attack. Upon the arrival of Rescue 1 and FCRS15, crews were able to perform a primary search and confirm that all occupants were out safely. As the incident progressed, a need for additional manpower was recognized and a Fire Task Force was requested. As crews continued to work on extinguishing the fire on the first floor and attic, it was noticed that additional smoke conditions were starting to form from the basement area. Crews were able to make their way to the basement, and determined that the fire had burned through the first floor and into the basement. At this time Command requested a second alarm be dispatched. During the fire attack efforts a firefighter was injured by a falling ceiling. The firefighter was able to be removed from the house quickly and was evaluated by EMS personnel and transported to a local hospital for treatment of non life threatening injuries. The fire was placed under control within an hour and a half and was placed out within two hours. Units operated for just over three hours to complete overhaul operations and clean up.

The Frederick County Fire Marshal's office is handling the origin and cause investigation and the residents are being assisted by the Red Cross. Five adults were displaced by the fire.
