On Saturday January 11 at 1003 hours (10:03 am), the MAVFC was dispatched, along with units from Winfield, Lisbon, Damascus, and Sykesville for a house fire in the 6300 block of Albers Drive north of town. First arriving personnel found a fire in the attic area of the house and isolated the fire by closing all doors and windows. E12 laid a 5 inch supply line while coming in the driveway. The crew then embarked on a very quick, aggressive attack knocking the fire down prior to the arrival of additional units. The fire was contained to the attic storage area, and only minor damage was done to the living area while checking for extension. Most units were clear of the scene in an hour, however, E12 stayed and secured the scene for investigation by the Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office.

There were no injuries to civilians or firefighters. The origin and cause of the fire is being investigated by the MSFMO. Damage was limited to the attic area and some holes in the second floor ceiling. Damages have been determined to be approximately $15,000 to the structure and $10,000 to the contents.
