On December 20 at 2048 hours (8:48 pm), Box Alarm 14-10 was dispatched for a house fire in the 1800 block of Gillis Falls Road. While units were responding, Carroll County Emergency Communications advised they had reports from the homeowner that everyone was out of the house and there was a fire in the attic that had extended across the entire length of the house. With that information, and due to the remote location of the incident, Duty14 requested a Tanker Task Force. First arriving Duty1 advised of a working fire and requested the Rapid Intervention Dispatch. Upon arrival, E12 was assigned to do a primary search and with opening up the ceiling and attacking the fire in the room above the garage. Rescue1 was dispatched as part of the Rapid Intervention Dispatch. Chief1 assumed the Rapid Intervention Group Supervisor role. Units operated for approximately 3 hours before returning to service. The origin and cause of the fire is under investigation by the Maryland State Fire Marshal's office.

Frederick County E153 filled in at Station 1 until requested to the fire scene, then Frederick E152 filled in.
