Thursday morning June 24 at approximately 0524 hours (05:24 a.m.), Medic 18, Rescue 1, and Engine 12 were dispatched for a vehicle collision with rollover on Rt. 27 near Cabbage Spring Road. First arriving Chief 1 advised that he had a single vehicle with 2 trapped and requested an additional engine and medic unit bringing M149 and E141 from Winfield to the scene. Upon the arrival of Rescue 1 and E12, the crews stabilized the vehicle and quickly extricated the patients. Further evaluation determined the need for a helicopter transport bringing Maryland State Police Helicopter Trooper 3 to the scene. Engine 141 handled the landing zone for the helicopter and both patients were taken to a trauma facility. All units were clear of the scene by 0635 hours. (6:35 a.m.)
