On Tuesday June 28 at 1118 hours, Carroll County ECC dispatched Box Alarm 1-15 for a house fire in the 1100 block of Village Gate Drive. First arriving Chief 1-2 advised light smoke showing from the rear of a 2 story single family home. E12 arrived and pulled a 1 3/4" hand line to the rear of the residence and found a gas grill on fire with extension to the deck and melted siding on the house. The crew from E12 quickly extinguished the fire and started to check for extension to the house. The crews from Rescue 1 and FCRE153 assisted with checking for hot spots. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Frederick County Fire Marshal's office. All units were clear at 1224 hours.
