| At 0329 hours (3:29 am) on Saturday May 19, Frederick County emergency communications dispatched Box 17-26 for a house fire in the 7600 block of Woodville Road. Frederick Chief 17-2 was first on the scene and found a vacant house, fully involved in fire with several exposures. Company 17 units began defensive operations that eventually led to Frederick Quint 11 knocking the bulk of fire with their aerial master stream device.
MAVFC Engine 12 set-up at the end of the driveway for water supply operations and was in charge of the dump site where they used the folding tank from Tanker 17 to establish a dump site for tankers to drop their water off for the fire attack. Tanker 1 assisted with water supply operations and became involved in the tanker shuttle while Paramedic 18 also assisted in the set-up.
MAVFC Rescue 1 was assigned to help Frederick County units with setting-up a tanker fill-site in the 7500 block of Woodville Road. There is a local pond there that the units were able to set up 70 feet of drafting suction sleeves to pull water from the pond and supply the tankers going to the fireground.
MAVFC units finished the incident around 0600 hours (6:00 am). The structure was a total loss and the fire is being investigated by Frederick County DFRS. |
